St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church is growing. Our campus is active seven days a week with growing ministries, support groups and community organization meetings, diocesan workshops, and other large events.
We honor St Bart’s 60-year legacy and the vision of those who started our church as we build for the future and a vision for the next 60 years. Our parish is raising $8 million to respond to our parish vision to share the Good News every day with our members and our neighbors. Together our members and the community identified three priorities to better serve our needs for today and for generations to come: improve campus accessibility, provide more parking and improved campus safety, and replace our old Parish Hall with a two-story Parish Community Center. Developed by the Architectural Committee with frequent and continuing parish listening and feedback, our campus redevelopment master plan honors St, Bart’s legacy of almost 60 years with the prayerful vision of today’s faith community.
We are transforming ourselves and our campus to serve the Episcopal Church of the 21st century that welcomes all people, loves all people and shares the love of Jesus with all people. Campus Plan Design
St Bart’s Strategic Plan included developing a comprehensive campus master plan. We are now implementing that plan with the initial three phases to be funded by the current $8 million Honor Faith. Build Future. capital campaign.
- Phase 1 - new Chapel, Youth/multipurpose meeting room with kitchenette, and update ADA restrooms >> COMPLETED SUMMER 2019
- Phase 2- new upper-level parking lot, new playground space for younger Preschool children, new low-slope walkway to Columbarium, and walkway from the lower parking lot to Chapel patio area
- Phase 3A - lower level of new Parish Community Center with elevator to the upper level, multipurpose meeting rooms, commercial kitchen, ADA restrooms, showers and laundry, and the upper courtyard area expanded
Additional phases will be funded by additional building campaigns and include completion of the Parish Community Center Completion upper level (Phase 3B), potential Education Building updates to accommodate Preschool expansion to double enrollment (Phase 4), and option for a new Sanctuary (Phase 5) is shown on the campus site plan and are included in the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) plans submitted to the City of Poway.
