Your First Visit

Everyone here at St. Bart's has been a newcomer at some point. You will have questions when planning to visit a church for the first time. This general information should help you feel more comfortable as you arrive at St. Bartholomew's.

Find Us: 16275 Pomerado Road Road in Poway, CA with reserved visitor parking.

We celebrate three services with Eucharist (Holy Communion) each week - Saturday 5 p.m., Sunday 8 a.m. and 10:15 am. The 10:15 a.m. service is our family service as Sunday School for children age 4 through 5th grade begins at 10:15 a.m. Nursery care is provided every Sunday 8:45-11:30 a.m. Check-in at the Children's Ministry table when you arrive.

We offer a Choral Evensong service on the first Sunday of the month at 4 p.m. and a ReGeneration contemporary worship service on the third Sunday of the month at 4 p.m. Additional special services and worship are scheduled throughout the church year.

When you arrive, head to the Welcome table outside the church - that's the best place to start. A greeter will welcome you and can help with questions and directions to Sunday School and the Nursery. Please let us know you are visiting and we hope that you'll sign the guest book and wear a name tag so we can welcome you by name.

You will receive a service bulletin and weekly news from the usher as you enter the church. You're invited to sit wherever is most comfortable in the church. The service bulletin contains every song and response you need for the service.

Eucharist/Communion: St. Bartholomew's welcomes everyone of any age to the communion rail. You can receive communion or a blessing. An usher will come to your pew to indicate it's time to go to the altar rail to receive communion.

Coffee Hour: We hope you will join us for coffee and donuts in the courtyard just outside the church following each service and take some time to talk with the "St. Bartians."

Newcomer Coffee: Every month our clergy hosts a Newcomer Coffee in the church office following the 10:15 a.m. service. This is a wonderful time to share your faith journey and learn more about St. Bartholomew's.

If you have specific questions about St. Bartholomew's, please call the church office at (858) 487-2159 or contact our parish administrator.
