Service Ministries

We invite you to join us in serving our community, both within St. Bart's and beyond. New members are always welcome to each of these ministries. St. Bart's has an active Outreach ministry too. For more information contact the parish administrator or call (858) 487-2159.

Green Thumb Ministry

A small group of dedicated gardeners enhances the beauty of our campus with new plantings of flowers and other botanicals in the Columbarium and around the sanctuary.

Interfaith Community Services (ICS)

St. Bartholomew's was one of the founding members of ICS. ICS is a recipient of generous gifts throughout the year from the Women of St. Bart's outreach program, which is funded by profits from the Thrift Shop. There are a number of opportunities to volunteer in programs ICS offers to those in need.

  • St. Bartholomew's volunteers serve breakfast to more than 125 people at the ICS site in Escondido on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6 a.m.
  • Volunteer servers help prepare and serve dinner to residents of the Interfaith Recovery Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays each month. The Center provides a safe place for homeless and low-income individuals to recover from drug and alcohol abuse in a long-term residential setting. Contact Jill Henderson, 760-807-8445, for more information regarding this and other Interfaith opportunities.

Planned Giving

The Planned Giving Committee enables people living now to make a difference in the future for God’s work through the church. Parishioners and friends of St. Bartholomew’s can make various kinds of gifts, whether expressed as a living gift or via a will, which will continue intact for future generations. The committee works to organize a parish event at least once per year to honor our benefactors and to give witness of their commitment to our church and its work.
